Please do judge this book by the cover!!
My friend and award winning author Richard Hallows has compiled a wonderful book of short stories. I would like to recommend it for a christmas pressie idea as it is such a great read - and quite nice to have it signed also! Lovely twists in the stories and I also hope you like the cover illustration (mine of course!) :)

NOT THE ROYAL ACADEMY
I am delighted to announce that ‘Martha and Joe’ has been selected for the prestigious 'NOT THE ROYAL ACADEMY' exhibition. The Llewellyn Alexander Gallery selects the best of the Summer Exhibition rejects, inspired by the original ‘Salon des Refuses’ held in Paris in the 19th century. This elegant gallery on the South Bank will hang the painting for 3 weeks over the summer and, providing it isn’t sold within the next couple of days, it will also appear on their website!!!!

NEW JUNIOR ART CLUB - THURSDAYS 4pm – 5.30pm!!
I am setting up a Junior Art Club for 6-8 year olds to be held at the Canvas Art School in Buckingham!! It will be a 6 week course starting February 26th at a cost of £45. It will include children’s painting and drawing lessons combined with fun arty games! All art materials will be included (and a snack)! I am also lucky to have professional illustrator Emily Brady joining me in running this club. There will only be 16 children on the course in order to comply with government recommended child to adult ratios 1: 8 max, Inevitably places are very limited, so early booking is essential to avoid disappointment. Contact Zoë Day on 07724 939609 or e-mail zoe@zoeday.co.uk for more details!

CANVAS ART CLASSES
I am continually looking to improve my work and learn new techniques and so I am doing a Portrait class with Elaine Coe and mixed media with Debs Last. I paint with both of these professional artists outside of class.
I have recently been invited to join various art groups, which has been a massive confidence booster:
BAFA – Buckingham Arts for All
This group meets regularly and hosts talks and demonstrations by professional artists. It also plans exhibitions and gallery visits. It gives the opportunity for practicing artists to meet up, share ideas and even paint together.
JAIL HOUSE ART
www.buckingham-art.co.uk
This is a group of professional artists who all exhibit together. We have several dates booked at the Old Gaol in Buckingham, and are also looking to travel further a field exhibiting in other venues. As we all demonstrate and paint ‘live’ during the show, it is a great opportunity to see how we work and talk to us!
As part of “Jail House Art” Exhibitions to be held in The Old Gaol, Buckingham are:
5th July 2008 10am – 4pm

LOT 14
I have recently put several pieces of work (watercolours and acrylic) for sale at the Olney Antiques Centre “Lot 14” where my sister Marie displays her hand-finished furniture and antiques.
FLORENCE TRIP
For our Tenth Wedding Anniversary my husband and visited Florence! We visited many galleries and I of course took along a sketch book. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Arno, so spent a few evenings painting the roof top scenes.
